Duties
Summary
Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Elementary Education, develop and monitor all District 205 Language Programs; provide leadership and support for professional development; and, lead the District in the coordination and implementation of identified District programs, including the district’s gifted and talented program (REACH). Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Language Pathways and Programs to lead the District in the coordination and implementation of District programs and assessments across EC-12, including World Languages, dual language, English learners, REACH, and Mentor programming. This position is for a 11 month employee at the District level.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Support instructional coaching initiatives to support best practices for instruction of English Learners EC - 12 across subject areas
- Support instructional coaching initiatives to support best practices for dual language learners in EC - 12, including elementary dual language classrooms as well as middle school dual language programming across subject areas
- Support high quality Dual Language Curriculum development K - 8 and management to support biliteracy with the Assistant Director, including the implementation of the IRLA & ENIL
- Support community engagement efforts and work to create a welcoming, affirming, & engaging atmosphere at all buildings
- Manage Dual Language report card and proficiency scales
- Support EL programming at Churchville Middle School, including master scheduling, student placement, and audits to ensure fidelity of course requirements of Sheltered, Co-Taught and Spanish Bilingual)
- Provide on site assistance for LAS Links assessment administration; manage LAS Links vendor partnership and dates for administration and reporting
- Ensure the proper management of Dual Language documentation in accordance with state requirements (e.g. refusal letters, TBE placement rationale, Powerschool monitoring, dominant language, enrollment monitoring)
- Collaborate with school leaders to establish goals, action plans, and monitor progress of programming for REACH programming
- Coordinate REACH curriculum planning and alignment with Instructional Coaches and REACH teachers
- Serve as district liaison REACH Parent Group
- Execute all translation services, including Parent Teachers Conferences
- Collaborate with involved staff to plan and implement Mentor Programming.
- Train staff district-wide on language assessments, incl. ACCESS K-12, WIDA Screener K-8, and LAS Links.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.
