Duties

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  To provide academic interventions to at-risk students.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administers assessments and/or tests for the purpose of assessing the level of students’ competencies.
  • Uses assessment data to identify areas of strength and opportunity for improvement.
  • Instructs students using tier 2 and tier 3 reading interventions to improve student success in academics.
  • Monitors integrity of implementation of intervention curriculum and progress of individual students, to include appropriate documentation of interventions implemented.
  • Supports and manages the successful implementation of district-provided assessment tools and data management.
  • Assists teachers and instructional staff to develop research-based, instructional practices that support the development of literacy and language.
  • Supports teachers in developing and implementing secondary interventions.
  • Accepts other responsibilities and duties, relevant to teaching assignments, as assigned by the administration.

Qualifications

  • Must have PEL endorsement for general or special education teaching. Reading specialist endorsement or experience teaching Reading/ELA preferred.

Salary/Benefits

Commensurate with education and experience.
