Duties
Limestone Walters CCSD #316 has an opening for a K-8 part time art teacher beginning for the 2024-2025 school year. We are looking for a candidate who will play a vital role in fostering creativity and artistic skills in young students. They will create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters a lifelong appreciation for the arts. They will also work collaboratively with all staff and use data to determine learning priorities, monitor progress, and assess student achievement. Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop age appropriate art lessons covering art concepts, techniques and art history that align with educational standards for grades K-8
- Incorporate various art techniques and mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art
- Create a stimulating and organized classroom environment that encourages creativity and artistic expression
- Inspire students to explore their creativity, express themselves through art, develop artistic skills, and gain artistic confidence
- Organize and display student artwork within the school and community
- Coordinate art-related school wide events such as art shows, contests, and cultural celebrations
Qualifications
Applicants must have or be able to obtain a state of Illinois Professional Educator License. They also must complete and pass a background check prior to employment.
Salary/Benefits
Per collective bargaining agreement.
