Duties
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide instruction and appropriate intervention which will result in every student being able to read and write.
2. Develop students’ ability to use Science to solve problems and understand information in Scientific terms.
3. Implement multiage grouping practices.
4. Align instruction with Illinois Learning Standards.
5. Integrate, when appropriate, all subject areas.
6. Use technology as a means to support the work of teachers and students.
7. Actively participate in all professional development opportunities.
8. Contribute as a team member and/or leader to all school improvement initiatives.
9. Demonstrate developmentally appropriate practices in all areas of the program.
10. Implement an assessment program designed to be used in instructional planning and program evaluation.
11. Maintain a classroom climate and management plan conducive to learning.
12. Communicate effectively with students, parents, the public, and staff.
13. Ability to work as part of a teaching team.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Hold or qualify for Illinois Professional Educator’s License (PEL)
2. Required Middle School endorsement in Science
3. Ability to become familiar with Grade 6-8 reading framework
4. Prefer flexibility to teach more than one subject
