Function / Position Summary
To provide direction and oversight for all competitive and entitlement grants awarded to the district to research and apply for competitive grants that align to the district goals. To utilize grant funding to move the district closer to fiscal equity.
 
Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Provides financial direction and oversight to all grant programs.
  • Ensures grant budgets are developed in collaboration with consideration for other revenue sources.
  • Ensure grant budgets align to the district’s vision, mission, and goals.
  • Ensure grant funding is spent equitably districtwide.
  • Review and audit financial claims and state and federal reports submitted for district grants.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely submission of required state and federal reports for assigned grants and funding.
  • Analyze monthly financial statements for assigned grants and funding.
  • Review regulation compliance for assigned grants and funding.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports to appropriate department director and staff as assigned.
  • Assist department directors and support personnel in the development of grant budgets.
  • Provide guidance and training to district staff to ensure accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Complete special projects and requests as assigned.
  • Research and recommend grant opportunities to the Deputy Superintendent of Operations.
  • Complete competitive grant applications as requested by the Deputy Superintendent of Operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Four years accounting experience with specific duties managing state and federal grants.
  • Preference given to applicants with financial experience in the public sector.

Experience / Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance or business administration preferred.
  • 3-5 years of grant management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under strict deadlines.
  • Outstanding professional ethics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and strong oral & written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving aptitude.
  • Hands-on orientation, strong organizational skills, and an extremely strong attention to details are skills essential to ensure accuracy.
  • Display responsible and professional leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple business priorities and projects.
  • Ability to interview, train, motivate, and communicate objectives with all personnel.
  • Ability to set goals and establish methods for achieving them.
  • Strong ability to provide a very high level of customer service to schools.
  • Able to accept rapid changes and interruption on daily basis.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion.
  • Able to handle sensitive employee data and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Salary/Benefits

Salary Information

  • The full salary range for this position is $91,560.00 - 137,323.00.  It is our practice to hire in between the minimum and midpoint ($114,444.00)
