Duties:
Aviston Elementary School District #21 is seeking motivated applicants who demonstrate strong teaching skills, exceptional organization, appropriate classroom management, and a team mentality. The main assignment is as a Pre-K teacher, working with students in a regular education setting and a blended classroom with students requiring special education services. The teaching assignment would consist of a morning session and afternoon session.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement engaging daily lesson plans based on district curriculum, Pre-K standards and IEP goals.
- Assess and monitor student progress and intervene appropriately using research-based interventions.
- Maintain accurate and regular grade records and report student progress to parents and administration as required.
- Provide quality instruction that includes differentiated learning experiences for the range of skill level and developmental needs of the students to ensure progress toward student goals.
- Coordinate with paraprofessionals, therapists and administration to provide educational opportunities and communications that benefit student learning, including presentation of data and recommendations during various IEP Team meetings.
- Utilize relevant technology to support and enhance instruction.
- Maintain consistent contact with parents/caregivers regarding classroom activities, student progress and needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Illinois Professional Educators License with Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education endorsements
