Duties
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct a needs assessment and delineate psychological services.
- Assess children’s difficulties through appropriate testing and diagnostic procedures.
- Participate in staff conferences concerning individual cases and recommend placement in programs of Special Education and/or other appropriate programs.
- Provide counseling and psychological follow-up activities.
- Act as consultant to school personnel concerning children’s adjustment.
- Conduct home visits and collect diagnostic data relevant to a student’s school, home and community adjustment.
- Screen school enrollment to identify children who should be referred for individual study.
- Assist with in-service training of school personnel.
- Support and assist in parent understanding and parent education.
- Participate as staff members of a school system on committees concerned with behavioral and educational problems of children.
- Work in cooperation with personnel of community, health and social welfare agencies.
- Prepare necessary local and State reports.
- Attend departmental, inter-departmental, professional and inter-agency meetings.
- Encourage and initiate research and utilize in addressing school program needs.
- Perform such other functions to comply with Circular Series A 160 and the Illinois school code.
- Perform such other duties and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Special Services Coordinator, Principal, and/or administrative designee.
KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS:
- Hold a valid Illinois Type 73 School Service Personnel certificate
- School Psychologist endorsement required.
- Master’s degree required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Board of Education policies, Illinois School Code, and special education law.
- Knowledge of public relations and familiarity with community agencies and services.
- Ability to understand school reports and records and document work productivity.
Qualifications
Must have a valid Illinois school service personnel certificate with a school psychologist endorsement and be registered in Peoria county. There are multiple positions available at multiple locations.
We will be Flexible and Work with Psychologists wanting to Work Full or Part Time.

* MUST PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL AND DRUG/ALCOHOL SCREENING
* MUST PASS A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK
